Daughters
of Bluegrass Album, Back to the Well Named Nashville, TN (9.30.06) The Daughters of Bluegrass’ new album, Back to Well received the award for Recorded Event of the Year at the 17th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards Show held at the Grand Ole Opry House last Thursday evening. Dixie Hall joined producer, Lorraine Jordan, in accepting this award. Jordan commented they were proud to be a part of the first award for Blue Circle Records, owned by Tom T and Dixie Hall. “The Daughters of Bluegrass project was exactly what IBMA members rewarded it for, the Recorded Event of the Year. So many women, from so many backgrounds, pulling together to record one project. Going back to the well and dipping into what the mothers of bluegrass had started for us. What an event it was,” stated Jordan after the show. Back to the Well is a collaborative project by some of the finest female talents in bluegrass music including Lorraine Jordan, Gena Britt, Heather Berry, Louisa Branscomb, Becky Buller, Donica Christensen, Julie Elkins, Dixie Hall, Beth Lawrence, Megan McCormick, Frances Mooney, Michelle Nixon, Angela Oudean, Mindy Rakestraw, Vicki Simmons, Valerie Smith, Jeanette Williams and this year’s IBMA nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year, Dale Ann Bradley. The title cut is at the #20 spot on The Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey Top 30 Singles for October. For more information on the
