Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain’s New Album, CHHR2 Releases
July 29th

Nashville TN (7.22.08)   Rural Rhythm Records is very proud to announce the second album release, CHHR2, by Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain, produced by Grammy™ nominated Jim VanCleve on July 29, 2008.  “Carrie Hassler surprised a lot of people with her debut album, not the least of all herself. Just four years ago she was a young mom in Crossville, TN…then in a story that echoes Connie’s Smith’s rise from homemaker to heroine forty years ago, the music business came looking for her,” said Nashville writer/producer, Craig Havighurst.

Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain are currently on an eight-day California tour before traveling back to Tennessee on August 1 to debut their new album live and on the air at the popular WDVX Blue Plate Special Show in Knoxville.  Later that day, Wal-Mart in Crossville, TN will host the band for an in-store performance and CD signing.  On August 2, the band will perform at the Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival and August 4 will hold their official CD Release Party in Fairfield Glade, TN.

Carrie Hassler’s powerful lead vocals have put her in the running for the coveted 2008 IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year nomination category along with Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain appearing in the 2008 IBMA EMERGING ARTIST category.

Rural Rhythm Records recently released the first single, I Can Go Back Anytime appearing on the labels very first radio sampler titled, Rural Rhythm's Fresh Cuts & Key Tracks.  Terry Herd of the Bluegrass Radio Network is thrilled with the new album stating, “If this isn’t a hit, I’m in the wrong business.”  CHHR2 includes eight original tunes either written or co-written by band member, Josh Miller including:  Faith & Hope; Fickle Heart; If These Walls Could Talk; I Don’t Want to Wake Up (co-written with Josh Swift); Second Chances (co-written with Jim VanCleve); Devil’s Den (co-written with Jim VanCleve and Craig Market);  One Way Track to Nowhere (co-written with band-mate Keith McKinnon); and 1800 Miles (co-written with Jennifer Haire.)

Other tracks include an incredible cover of Bob Seger’s Turn the Page.  Carrie Hassler said, “What started out as something we did just for fun, turned out to be our most requested song at every show.  Who knew there were so many Bob Segar fans at bluegrass shows!  Josh Shilling, lead singer with Mountain Heart came to the studio and absolutely tore up the harmony part on this song and we are thrilled to have it on our new CD.”

One of the most moving tunes, She’s a Stranger is His Mind was written by Mark “Brink” Brinkman and concerns the devastating disease, Alzheimers. “My heart broke when I thought about this song and how true it is and how I myself know people going through this same thing.  I know this song will touch so many people and I feel privileged to be the one entrusted with it,” said Hassler.

Country Strong is also a highlight written by Mark Nesler, Tony Martin and Jennifer Hanson.  Hassler feels “This is my song!  Those who know me - know that I am a 100% country girl. I was raised in the country by Godly parents that taught me to be strong no matter what the circumstances are and if you do fall….get right back up and try again.  That is exactly what this song talks about – my life.  The chorus states, ‘country strong…hard to break…like the ground I grew up on.  You may fool me and I’ll fall, but I won’t stay down long, cause I’m country strong!”  The CD concludes with a short jam piece that will please fans titled, “Where’s Carrie?”

The band comprised of
Carrie Hassler, Keith McKinnon, Kevin McKinnon, Travis Anderson, Josh Miller and Jamie Harper. The band is nationally sponsored by the MOON PIE™ Co.
