Women in Bluegrass Attract
International Attention Features by WAMU Radio and Bluegrass Music Profiles
Nashville, TN – Years ago, anyone would
be hard pressed to find so many talented women in bluegrass garnering
so much attention, but Mike Kear of Pacific Bluegrass Network
in Australia had plenty of music to choose from when planning a
feature radio show dedicated to WOMEN
IN BLUEGRASS. This special radio program will air on WAMU
Radio beginning tomorrow, Saturday, October 18, 2008 and will be
rebroadcast five more times next week and has their complete schedule
at the WAMU
website. The three hour show will
include either all-female
or female-lead music and
also feature the brand new CD, “Bluegrass
Bouquet,” the third album by the Daughters
of Bluegrass, produced by
Dixie Hall, Frances Mooney and Paula Wolak.
"Bluegrass Bouquet”,
includes over 50 women in bluegrass featuring the 2007 and 2008 IBMA
Female Vocalist of the Year award winner, Dale
Ann Bradley along with Frances Mooney, Lorraine Jordan, Jeanette
Williams, Rhonda Vincent, Michelle Nixon, Dixie Hall, Gena Britt, Beth
