GREENBRIER’s New Single, THE BACK OF THE BOOK,

(4.28.08) Bluegrass band,
GREENBRIER
is proud to announce the title track from their March 29, 2008 album,
“The Back of the Book” has been released to bluegrass radio as the
first single. This is an original song by band member Roger Helton who
also performs guitar, banjo, Dobro and vocals on the CD along with other band members, Jimbo Whaley
(vocals and guitar); Scott Carris (bass); and guests,
Danny Barnes (mandolin); and Shad Cobb (fiddle).
 Last
month Greenbrier kicked off The Back of the Book with what has
now become an CD Release
Concert celebration. The event was held at the Historic Mills
Auditorium in Gatlinburg, TN where over 1300 fans attended and over 1200
CDs were sold. Guests included: Marty Raybon, Trey Hensley, Danny Barnes, Dr. Eric
Littleton, Whaley’s
son, Turner, and many more. The concert featured songs from The Back of the Book including new fan favorites,
Barabbas, Breakin’ Jail at Midnight, You Take the Lead and The Back of the Book to name a few.
The group has been honored with their highly entertaining performances
and they always seem to have big surprises for the audience which fans
have come to love. The
CD release concert was no exception as the group kicked off
the song, Next To You Next To Me, then Marty Raybon joined the band on stage leading
the song he made famous with the group Shenandoah in the mid 90’s.
Greenbrier is one of the most popular bluegrass bands in the East Tennessee
area, but due to high demand elsewhere, they are now performing select dates around the country
including California, Wisconsin and most recently, a recent sold
out Atlanta show with Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain.
Greenbrier has one previously released CD, I Want to Know More
released in 2005 and Whaley has numerous solo projects including: a
live performance DVD/CD, Jimbo Whaley
& Friends released in 2007, The Kings of Orebank
released in 2006 and his self titled album released in 2005.
