PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 29, 2010

News from the Bean Blossom Jamboree Foundation

The Bean Blossom Jamboree Foundation (BBJF) would like to thank everyone involved with the first BBJF Bluegrass Benefit Concert held at the Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, Indiana earlier this month.  The concert featured great performances by the Charlie Sizemore Band, Jett’s Creek, New Harmony, Birch Creek, and Sugar Creek with an all-star jam closing out the evening. All proceeds from the event benefited the BBJF, non profit foundation formed with the intent to purchase the Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground located in Bean Blossom, Indiana.  “We could not be more pleased with the evening.  Everything ran so smoothly and everyone in attendance had a fantastic time.  We certainly appreciate the continued support of the BBJF donors.  We have received so many comments from people around the world supporting our goals,” said Rich Hersberger, BBJF Board of Directors.

Concert attendees were treated with prize giveaways from the night’s SPONSORS including:  Bill Monroe Music Park, Rural Rhythm Records, Hope River Entertainment,Joe's Junction, Brothers Restaurant, Small Town Pizza, Aunt Judy's Country Kitchen, Pizza King, McDonald’s Shopworth, Motor City Restaurant, Brownie’s Restaurant, and Frenchy’s Pub

Special thanks to:  Bruce and Kathie White (WheretheGrassGrows.com) for helping with publicity and in various other areas, Chris and Linda Fullerton for wonderful MC work, Don & Dona’s Restaurant for generously supporting the BBJF with their Giving Tree program, BBJF volunteers for all their hard work, the Historic Artcraft Theatre for providing a welcoming venue and wonderful sound, and the band for putting on great performances.

The BBJF’s Memory Wall Project has also been a huge success and will be unveiled at the upcoming Bill Monroe Memorial Bean Blossom Festival scheduled June 12-19, 2010 at the Bill Monroe Music Park.  Anyone interested in purchasing a memory brick and having it engraved on the wall before the June festival should make sure their orders are received by the BBJF by May 10th, 2010.  Additional orders will of course be accepted after that deadline for placement later in the summer.  Order forms may be found online, at the Bill Monroe Music Park, or requested by letter or phone.
